JESSARNA (JESS)

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST, OROFACIAL MYOLOGIST AND DIRECTOR OF TSP

    Jess is passionate about helping children in their most crucial years of development and providing education to families and the community. With a special interest in Orofacial Myology and Childhood Apraxia of Speech, she works closely with families, health and educational professionals to empower children to have the best start in life. Originally from Thursday Island, Jess then lived in Townsville and the Gold Coast while completing her studies. Since then she has worked as a speech pathologist in rural, remote and metro communities across QLD, before opening the doors of TSP in 2021.

    Jess is a certified practising member of Speech Pathology Australia, and a registered provider member and Secretary for the Australian Association of Orofacial Myology (AAOM).

    Jess is dedicated to ongoing professional development and has completed further training including:

    • Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy Introductory and Advanced Courses – Registered Provider Member with the Australian Association of Orofacial Myology
    • Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT) Introductory & Bridging Courses

      Leilani is passionate about empowering families so each child can reach their fullest potential. She delivers evidence based therapy that is fun and individualised to each child. Leilani is a certified practising member of Speech Pathology Australia. She has a Bachelor of Speech Pathology and a Bachelor of Visual Arts. Her areas of clinical experience include speech, feeding, language, literacy and social communication and she has completed the following courses:

      CHLOE

      SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

        Graduating with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology in 2023, Chloe brings boundless excitement and dedication to her work with children. She is eager to apply her acquired knowledge and skills to support the development of effective communication and feeding abilities in young clients. She is thrilled at the opportunity to collaborate with a team dedicated to empowering children.

        As well as being a speech pathologist, Chloe is registered Irish Dance teacher with Scoil Ard Rince where she teaches children. She has performed on national and international stages, both competitively and professionally. 

        Chloe looks forward to learning new skills and growing both personally and professionally as she embarks on this new chapter with Talem Speech Pathology. Chloe is a registered practising member of Speech Pathology Australia and is a PROMPT (Promtpts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) trained clinician. She has experience working with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and recently trained with the Australian Academy of Orofacial Myology to become an orofacial myologist.

        JEMIMA

        SPEECH PATHOLOGIST
        OROFACIAL MYOLOGIST

          Jemima graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology in 2023. During her time at university, she was a disability support worker and the President of the Student Speech Pathology Society, showcasing her love and commitment to the field of speech pathology. She is passionate about working with children and their families and loves to give back to her community. Jemima is a lover of music, travelling and Disney movies, and she looks forward to acquiring new skills and growing as she embarks on this new chapter with Talem Speech Pathology.

          Jemima is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia. She recently trained with the Australian Academy of Orofacial Myology to become an orofacial myologist and has completed a number of courses to work with speech sound disorders and delays. Jemima is trained in the Sounds-Write programme to support clients with their literacy goals and Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) SPEAK OUT! & LOUD Crowd to support clients with their voice goals (including individuals with dysarthria).

          JODIE

          ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANT

            Jodie is our powerhouse who covers a range of areas within our clinic. As well as being part of the client care team, she has a CERT IV in Allied Health Assistantance. Jodie supports clients with their treatment and goals under the guidance of our speech pathologists, by implementing therapy sessions and programs. Recently commencing a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at university, she is excited to continue her learning in this field.

            Jodie has undertaken additional professional development courses including:

              Growing up in Brisbane, Jacinta recently returned after living in Melbourne for three years. She is a mother of three and is passionate about children’s development and fostering positive relationships within our local community. Jacinta is currently studying a Bachelor of Psychology and hopes to one day work as an Educational Psychologist.
