JESSARNA (JESS)

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST 
DIRECTOR OF TSP

    Jess is passionate about helping children in their most crucial years of development and providing education to families and the community. With a special interest in Orofacial Myology and Childhood Apraxia of Speech, she works closely with families, health and educational professionals to empower children to have the best start in life. Originally from Thursday Island, Jess then lived in Townsville and the Gold Coast while completing her studies. Since then she has worked as a speech pathologist in rural, remote and metro communities across QLD, before opening the doors of TSP in 2021.

    Jess is a certified practising member of Speech Pathology Australia and a provider member with the Australian Association of Orofacial Myology (AAOM).

    In 2021, Jess began further training in orofacial myology and has since undertaken extensive advanced professional development in this area, allowing her to provide specialised, evidence-informed care to her clients.

    Jess is dedicated to ongoing learning and has completed further training including:

    • Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT) Introductory & Bridging Courses
    • Advanced Courses In Treating Speech Sound Disorders
    • Further Training to Assess and Treat Motor Speech Sound Disorders (such as Childhood Apraxia of Speech) including:
        • Dynamic Tactile and Temporal Cues (DTTC)
        • Rapid Syllable Transition Training (ReST)
        • Nuffield Centre Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3) 
    • Assessment and Treatment of the Jaw
    • Sounds-Write (Literacy Program)
    • Certified Hanen Instructor in the “It Takes Two to Talk” Parent Program

    CHLOE

    SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

      Graduating with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology in 2023, Chloe brings boundless excitement and dedication to her work with children. She is thrilled to be working with a team dedicated to empowering children to support the development of effective communication. 

      As well as being a speech pathologist, Chloe is registered Irish Dance teacher with Scoil Ard Rince where she teaches children. She has performed on national and international stages, both competitively and professionally. 

      Chloe is a registered practising member of Speech Pathology Australia and is a PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) trained clinician. She has experience working with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and trained with the Australian Academy of Orofacial Myology in 2024 to become an orofacial myologist.

      LAUREN

      SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

        Lauren graduated from Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia, in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science-Speech Pathology. She has worked across a range of settings, including hospitals, community health, private practice and schools, and brings a broad and practical understanding to her work with children and families.

        Lauren is passionate about supporting children to build their communication, speech and literacy skills, and believes every child deserves a way to confidently communicate. She works closely with families and educators to develop meaningful goals that support each child in their everyday life.

        Lauren is known for her warm and friendly approach, and for creating a fun, supportive environment where children feel comfortable, confident and motivated to learn. Lauren values strong relationships and takes the time to really get to know each child and their family.

        Lauren is a Certified Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia. She has completed additional training in a range of areas, including orofacial myology, literacy (Sounds-Write), augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), including Key Word Sign (Basic) and LAMP, early language (Hanen: It Takes Two to Talk), and neuro-affirming practice.

        LIA

        SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

          Lia graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (First Class Honours) in 2025 and is passionate about working with children and their families. She values building strong, positive relationships and aims to create a fun, supportive therapy environment where children feel comfortable and motivated to learn. Lia enjoys being creative in her approach and finding engaging ways to support each child’s individual communication goals.
          Outside of work, Lia enjoys spending her weekends with family, baking, crocheting and playing with her cat, Margaret.
          Lia values ongoing learning and enjoys working as part of a supportive team. She is a registered practising member of Speech Pathology Australia and has completed further studies in orofacial myology. 

          ISABELLA (ISSY)

            Issy is the smiling face to greet you when you arrive at Talem Speech. Isssy has valuable medical administration experience and is currently studying Nursing to further expand her knowledge in the healthcare field. Her commitment to learning and passion for helping others make her a strong asset to our team.
